a new necklace i made

out of one of the resin beads i cast. i used craft wire to wrap it. i threaded a few beads on the ends of the wire and bent the wire around the beads a bit. i then formed two loops on either end of the wire. i used some beading silk to slip through the loops. i tied a bead on each end of the silk. the silk can be tied and put in a bow (back of your neck) with the beaded ends brought forward

ok i finished the necklace i was making

with the focal bead i made out of resin. although it is incredibly FAR FROM PERFECT, for my first attempt at something like this, it's passable (well, a little pass that is).

i went to lucinda's beads in windsor. i asked how i could finish the necklace off. they suggested crimp beads and a lobster claw clasp. well, that's what i did! it DOES look better than when all the wires were hanging out (see a few postings ago for the UNfinished pics)

(by the way, i like lucinda's a great deal. they're friendly, helpful and it's a cool little store. PLUS you may get visited by a cat and/or a dog if you're lucky!!!)

a necklace i'm making

i still have to finish it off. i'm going to put two larger beads on the ends and thread back the wires through the beads. i'll leave a loop on each end and put some sort of clasp on it. i don't have the beads or the clasp yet. i'll be on a search for them

the focal bead is one of the resin ones i made. the other beads are glass that i got here and there. the wires are just craft wire. soft and quite bendable. i just braided the three strands on each side of the focal bead

here's a necklace i made. the two beads on the right are glass. i made the other two beads. the bottom one out of resin with embedded paint and small beads. i wrapped that one in craft wire. the bead on the left i made a long time ago. it's made out of torn strips of silk, fabric paint (i used pens, including metallic ones), craft wire and a few already made beads. after i colored the silk with the fabric paint, i sponged on some mod podge and wrapped/rolled it around a straw. after it was dried, i further decorated it with the metallic markers and the craft wire and glass beads. i made a MESS of 'em.
