i'm in my 'no poo' stage right now myself. i do it once a year for a couple of months. i use 2 T baking soda mixed in water as a shampoo and 2 T apple cider vinegar mixed in water as a conditioner. really it DOES work. (she even has a no poo recipe in her instructable. however, the measurements are not the same as mine. my hair is wicked long though)
