a new pin i made

(click the pics for a larger view)

the base is made of grungeboard by tim holtz (i love the stuff). i used a couple of star shapes, a heart shape and a couple of twirly shapes. i also used some of his crackle paint as well as his black distress ink. (note: the paint and inks are under ranger, the grungeboard is under idea-ology). i had some craft wire and beads laying around so i used that too. i especially like the wonderful little iridescent face beads (i got from earthfaire a GREAT beading and yarn resource). i gave the pin a little coating of diamond glaze then put a bit of gold green leaf on it (using a little CHEAP paintbrush). i let it dry an hour or so then gave it another coat - then dry - then another coat. i glued a pinback onto it and voila!

i have been making a lot of jewelry

of late. half are drilled and the other half are wire wrapped. this how to wire wrap a pendant video will come in REAL HANDY!

(shout out to crafting in a green world)

my pictures are of amy and her new birthday necklace. made out of a cast resin bead i did with a few other little (and nice i may add) glass beads strung on beading silk with a few strands of heavier silk
(note my sunflower in the background. still a while before she blooms!)

a new necklace i made

out of one of the resin beads i cast. i used craft wire to wrap it. i threaded a few beads on the ends of the wire and bent the wire around the beads a bit. i then formed two loops on either end of the wire. i used some beading silk to slip through the loops. i tied a bead on each end of the silk. the silk can be tied and put in a bow (back of your neck) with the beaded ends brought forward

a necklace i'm making

i still have to finish it off. i'm going to put two larger beads on the ends and thread back the wires through the beads. i'll leave a loop on each end and put some sort of clasp on it. i don't have the beads or the clasp yet. i'll be on a search for them

the focal bead is one of the resin ones i made. the other beads are glass that i got here and there. the wires are just craft wire. soft and quite bendable. i just braided the three strands on each side of the focal bead

finished the moonflower beadstew bracelet

from the previous posting. it was easy and fairly fast. it IS a pain threading the beads though. i just might get or make a bead spinner.

note: the kit is from earth faire
